Understanding the Spectrum from Investment Consultant to OCIO

Tuesday, February 14    |    2:00pm - 2:50pm

Many foundations and family offices currently use an investment consultant.  Today they have available a spectrum of investment management solutions from traditional consultants to fully discretionary Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO) solutions.  This session examines the advantages and challenges across the range of:  non-discretionary consulting, using a mixed/hybrid consultant/OCIO model, to a fully discretionary OCIO option for foundations and families.  What are the factors to consider in what is best for you?  The role of the investment committee, fiduciary responsibility, customization vs. “single solution” models, fees, reporting, degrees of service, potential conflicts and other nuances of each type of relationship will be covered.
