Chief Financial and Investment Officer, Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP)
David has been employed at Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), Boston’s Jewish Federation since March 1993 and has held virtually every position in the Finance Department including Staff Accountant, Assistant Controller, and Director of Finance. He was awarded CJP’s Circle of Excellence Award for Commitment in May 2000. David was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in May 2002 and Senior Vice President in 2011.
During his tenure, David has managed and supported CJP’s significant growth, including an Annual Campaign that has increased from $20 million to over $56 million and philanthropic assets under management that have grown from $100 million to over $1.7 billion. In 1998 David played a leadership role in the creation of the Jewish Community Endowment Pool, LLP which manages the endowment assets of over eighty Jewish community organizations. Nationally, David played a leading role in the creation of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) National Jewish Federation Investment Program. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the JFNA Financial & Technology Professionals Institute and has served on the planning Committee for the JFNA Investment Institute. David also represents CJP on JFNA’s Large-City CFO group.
