Bei Saville is senior vice president and senior client investment officer for endowments and foundations at Northern Trust. She manages endowment and foundation investment programs, including the development of investment policies, asset allocation recommendations, risk assessment and management, investment manager search, selection and oversight, portfolio construction, and ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of investment programs.
Bei serves as a member of the Northern Trust’s Investment Oversight Committee, which oversees Northern Trust multi-manager program. She is also a member of the firm’s Endowment and Foundation Investment Committee, which is actively involved in the approval of significant strategy recommendations and managers before they are implemented in client portfolios.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, Bei was the director of Alternative Investments at the Helmsley Charitable Trust, one of the largest foundation investment programs in the US. Prior to Helmsley, she managed the alternatives portfolio at Pfizer. Previously, Bei was at Morgan Stanley’s Global Portfolio Solutions group, where she designed and managed alternatives portfolios and advised on asset allocation for a variety of institutional investors. She has held positions at JPMorgan, David J. Greene and China National Real Estate Development Group.
Bei has served on multiple advisory boards of non-profit organizations and alternative investment funds. Currently she serves on the Limited Partner Advisory Council for the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Alternative Investments and the Princeton Roundtable Advisory Board. She is a trustee and member of the Investment Committee of the Victoria Foundation.
Bei earned her BS in Economics at Renmin University of China, studied European Economics, Politics and Culture at the University of the West of England in the UK, and earned her MBA in Finance from Old Dominion University. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
