Theodore F. Perlman is Founder of The HAVI Group LP. HAVI provides distribution, purchasing, logistic services, premiums & promotional services to the McDonalds restaurant system, both in the United States and worldwide. Other leading companies who are major clients are Taco Bell, British Petroleum, Nissan and T-Mobile.
Mr. Perlman received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree along with minors in Political Science and History from the University of Michigan.
He served in the Army Reserve, active duty for six months in 1959; thereafter he remained in active Reserves for 5-1/2 years. Following graduation from college in February 1959, he married Harriette Lakin of Detroit, Michigan. Harriette & Ted are parents of three adult children, and grandparents of 9 children.
Upon graduation from the University of Michigan, Mr. Perlman was employed by The Martin-Brower Company where he held various positions until 1974--his last title being Senior Vice-President and General Manager. The Martin-Brower Company merged with The Clorox Company in 1972. In 1974 Mr. Perlman along with his partner Bob Rocque founded the Perlman-Rocque Company, which was the forerunner of The HAVI Group LP. In 1986 HAVI was purchased by Staley Continental; Mr. Perlman repurchased the Company in August, 1988.
