The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) is an umbrella organization that serves 151 Jewish Federations and 300 network communities. The biennial JFNA Investment Institute, founded in 2001, has become the premier event for leaders from Jewish Federations and Jewish Community Foundations who want to deepen their understanding of the critical factors that affect portfolio performance and preservation in today’s volatile market environment. 

This is the only conference in the Jewish community that provides access to top-level expertise on investment management and best practices for foundation and endowment stewardship and governance.

A recent study revealed that above and beyond the $18 billion in collective endowment and donor advised funds, there are over 2,800 private foundations representing over $60 billion in additional Jewish philanthropic wealth that needs to be stewarded. The Investment Institute offers relevant resources and guidance.

The 2017 Investment Institute will run from February 12-15, 2017 beginning on Sunday morning February 12th with a golf and tennis tournament, followed by a kickoff reception and keynote at 5:00 pm.  Main sessions and breakout panels will continue through Tuesday, February 14th. Additional programming for Federations and community foundations will be held on Wednesday, February 15th.

The conference hotel is the PGA Resort and Spa at 400 Ave of the Champions, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, just 15 miles from Palm Beach International Airport.

We expect the 2017 Investment Institute to attract participants from more than 60 communities and agencies across North America and Israel, representing over $20 billion in assets under management. The program will include four tracks, on investments, economics, strategic governance and philanthropy.  Keynote speakers and panelists will cover topics including maximizing investment committee effectiveness, exploring the differing features of investment outsourcing and consulting, taking a strategic perspective on the global economy, discovering trends in philanthropy, and how the election results will affect your portfolio.   Leading investors such as David Rubenstein and Charlie Ellis will share their perspective and reveal what keeps them up at night.  Join the 600 attendees that plan to participate.

The Investment Institute is an invitation-only event open to investment committee chairs and members, chief financial officers, senior endowment professionals, leading financial service providers, high net worth donors, private foundation trustees and academics.  Both CFP and CPE continuing education credits will be available.
